Intellectual Property Policy

This policy defines what is owned by users, what is owned by Meowmbai, and the rights granted between them.

What you own

You retain full ownership of every photo you upload to Meowmbai. Your copyright in those images is not transferred to us.

Licence you grant us

By uploading content, you grant Meowmbai a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable licence to:

• Store and back up your content.
• Display it publicly on the Platform and in map views.
• Create thumbnails and optimised versions.
• Use it in promotional material for Meowmbai (e.g. social media, press coverage) with attribution.

This licence ends when you delete the content, except where copies have been cached or shared by third parties.

What Meowmbai owns

The following are owned by Meowmbai™ and may not be reproduced, copied, or adapted without written permission:

• The Meowmbai name and wordmark.
• The Platform's interface design, colour system, and typography choices.
• Original written content (About page, UI copy, blog posts).
• The software, algorithms, and database structure underlying the Platform.

Public cat data

Aggregated, anonymised cat location data (neighbourhood-level counts, popularity scores) may be freely cited for non-commercial research or journalism with attribution to Meowmbai.
